Jacob Moon plus Alyssa Smillie

Jacob Moon is known for his giftedness as a singer/songwriter of award-winning pop and folk songs. He is also a master of the art of ‘live looping’, a performance style where he records what he's playing in real time and layers sound on sound to make one guitar sound like an orchestra.

Artists like Rush, Marillion and Gordon Lightfoot have taken a shine to Moon's renditions of their songs and have lavished him praise and a spotlight that has gained him international attention. It is these inventive covers that draws the fans in, but it's Moon's original material and his compelling live show that make them pull up a chair.

Support comes from fellow Canadian Alyssa Smillie who lived in Arisaig for a few years recently with her family. She is currently studying music in Glasgow and will showcase some of her own compositions.

RUSHfest Scotland 2020

We are more than delighted to have secured two absolutely amazing acts to play for RUSHfest Scotland 2020 on Saturday 13th June at the DRYGATE BREWERY in central GLASGOW from 1pm till 12am.

HEADLINING we have an outstanding 3-piece from Southampton. Known as “KEPLER TEN” for their original music (check out the phenomenal debut album Delta V) and as "R2" - one of Europe's top Rush tribute bands. Their 2 hour headlining set for RUSHfest Scotland will be mainly Rush (of course!) but they have promised us a handful of K10 originals too. Their second album Time and Tide should be out by then.

If that wasn't enough - also performing on the day we will have JACOB MOON - the phenomenal Canadian singer / songwriter who is well known by the Rush community worldwide for his unique take on Rush classics. His rooftop video of Subdivisions went viral on its release in 2008 and his latest New World Man is equally impressive.

MOVING PICTURES (#3 - back to a 3-piece with new front man JOHN POWER) will be playing in the afternoon - the entire Permanent Waves album to celebrate its 40th anniversary - plus one other band to be confirmed - plus the usual shenanigans - VIP(s) still to be confirmed too. Overall - i think you'll agree - we've kinda knocked it out the park again!

With all of the above in mind we have to bump up the ticket price to £31.50 to cover expenses. If you know anything about the acts mentioned I'm sure you'll agree it's incredible value for this event. As ever, all profits will go to charity. For the next two years our chosen charity is Cancer Support Scotland. They provide FREE emotional and practical support on a one-to-one basis and through community-based groups to anyone affected by cancer, including family, friends and carers.
